A: No platform is perfect and you have to pick the one that best suits you and your budget.

My Experience With Clickfunnels & Builderall

I used a Clickfunnels (Basic plan) for several years but always thought it was way overpriced for what it offered, especially given the limitations of the Basic plan.

The people who created Clickfunnels have since released Clickfunnels 2.0, which features a drag-and-drop page editor and reduced the limitations on a Basic account… and finally added an autoresponder to their Basic Plan.

I still think that the Basic Plan at $97/yr is unaffordable and unjustifiable for people just starting out with affiliate marketing.

I switched to using Builderall which, at the time, was about 30% less expensive and is a complete all-in-one marketing platform.

However, I found their user interface and particularly how you managed emails and campaigns so un-intuitive and frustrating to use that I gave up working with it and went back to Clickfunnels.

I used to be a professional programmer and from that stance I had a lot of issues with how Builderall’s user interface was put together.

Let’s just say that whoever put it together thinks in a very different way to me.

Another issue I had was when they changed (increased) their pricing – it affected all users, not just new ones.

And they frequently change their prices without locking in existing customers at the price point they joined at.

That’s bad for members who joined during lower-price periods but good for those who joined during higher-price periods.

I don’t think that’s a good way to treat existing customers.

The high prices they moved to, when I was with them, must not have gone over well because Builderall reduced their prices in the meantime.

But their prices have risen again (as of 2026) and their Advanced Plan (their most popular) is now $97/mth.

Switching To Systeme.io

Finally, I found Systeme.io – read my review of it here.

It, as far as I can see, uses exactly the same editor as Clickfunnels 1.0, so anyone who used Clickfunnels before they launched Version 2.0 will feel right at home.

That said, the editor (on both platforms) can be finicky to use at times.

However, what Clickfunnels lacks in additional services, Systeme contains by default.

And at a significantly lower price point.

Systeme is much, much better value than Clickfunnels as a result.

Clickfunnels is really designed for businesses to use rather than small-time affiliate marketers.

Systeme appeals to a wider user-base.

While Clickfunnels offers a 14-day trial, anything you build during that trial period stops working after the trial ends.

You can only reactivate your assets by opening a paid account.

If you are considering Clickfunnels, they also have a special offer – Get 3 months of the Clickfunnels Scale Plan for $99 (regularly $197/mth).

Builderall takes the same approach, except they don’t even offer a trial period.

Systeme’s free plan is free forever so you never feel pressured into upgrading to a paid plan.

Obviously upgrading is a good idea if you want to build additional resources.

Systeme’s highest-priced Plan is $97/mth which offers unlimited everything, something neither Clickfunnels nor Builderall offer at that price point.

Testing Out Systeme’s Free Plan

To see if it could be really be done, I built an entire sales funnel that offers a free ChatGPT course, which included a video training course as a lead magnet exclusively on Systeme’s free plan.

I’ve since upgraded to a paid plan and moved that ChatGPT course over to Skool where I have a Free Group with over 17 additional courses.

My vote goes to Systeme as an all-in-one marketing platform and I’d encourage anyone currently on a Clickfunnels 1.0 or 2.0 Basic plan to switch.

As to templates for courses, Systeme does include at least 2 such templates, whether your course includes videos or not.

Both templates include the course navigation menu and the module and lesson pages, all fully editable.

I’m sure Clickfunnels includes similar templates but I’ve never built a course with Clickfunnels.

The platform you build a course on isn’t that important, though you do want one that delivers pages and videos quickly.

And from my own experience with Clickfunnels (I had a Clickfunnels 1.0 legacy account), Clickfunnels was very slow in serving pages to browsers.

That’s a huge let-down for a service that charges a premium price.

However, what’s more important is how you market and promote the front page of a sales funnel to the right audience(s) and that’s completely separate from the platform you use to build the course or funnel.

So, to answer the question at the top of this post in a nutshell, I would recommend using Systeme rather than Clickfunnels.

Yes! Absolutely!

It’s more capable and a fraction of the cost of a Clickfunnels account.
