UPDATE: 2nd October, 2024: Vidnami officially shut down in August of 2021 when the company was sold. Since the tool is no longer available, these are my recommended replacement video creation tools for 2024 and beyond:
- InVideo Studio - create videos yourself in much the same manner as Vidnami allowed but with more assets and features.
- InVideo AI - let AI create videos for you, Think InVideo Studio with AI.
- Read more: Using InVideo AI To Create A Marketing Video
- Pictory - another excellent tool for creating your own videos and having the capability of AI creating videos as well.
- CapCut - more of a video editor than a video creation tool. You basically upload the video elements you want and put them together, with some inbuilt resources, to create videos. Very good for creating vertical-style video shorts.
- Vidyo - a tool for intelligently creating short videos from a long video. Great for breaking up YouTube videos into video clips to use on social media platforms.
Rebranding Content Samurai
I have a couple of posts on this site that talk about the online video creation app called Content Samurai.
- Web Video Marketing With The Content Samurai Online Video Maker
- How To Make Professional Video Content From Your Kitchen Table With Content Samurai
- Using Viral Video To Build A List
Today, Noble Samurai, the company that created the Content Samurai app have announced that they’ve rebranded the software and are now calling it Vidnami (as Vidnami is no more, the link will take you to my Pictory AI bonus page instead).
This post talks about why the company felt the change was necessary. If you prefer watching video to reading, I cover the essential info in this video, or you can watch the embedded video at the end of this post.
So what does this mean both for existing Content Samurai users and for potential new customers?
Here’s a video from Dr. Anthony, whose face you may know from watching Content Samurai training videos:
Why change the name?
Content Samurai was a very long name that was hard to spell, and didn’t really sound like a video creation tool.
On the other hand, Vidnami is a short name that is easy to spell, and the Noble Samurai team believe it sounds much more like a modern video creation platform.
There were also other important reasons behind their choice of the name Vidnami. Firstly, they were able to secure the Vidnami domain name, and secondly they were able to secure a trademark for the name.
What does the name Vidnami mean?
The name Vidnami comes from combining the word “Video” and the Japanese word for wave “Nami” and it relates to the idea of using video to create a positive wave of influence in the world.
If you’re already subscribed to Content Samurai, what happens to all your videos there?
The team have automatically transferred all your existing videos into Vidnami so you can start using the new system today and pick up exactly where you left off.
How do you get access to Vidnami if you already have an account at Content Samurai?
Visit www.Vidnami.com (since Vidnami is now dead, take a look at InVideo AI or Pictory instead).
Click on the Login option at the top right hand corner of the screen.
Enter the same email and password as you use to access Content Samurai. (If you’ve forgotten your password click the Forgotten Password link to reset your password.)
Are Vidnami & Content Samurai still the same company?
Yes, they are still the same company and team.
They haven’t sold the company and their team hasn’t changed.
This means you’ll still get the same great customer support, and Noble Samurai are still focused on adding new features and making the product even better.
Does the upgrade to Vidnami cost more for current subscribers?
No, you don’t need to pay a cent extra – your account has been upgraded for FREE!
Will you still be able to use your favorite templates?
Yes! All of the templates have been carried over into Vidnami (including any custom templates you’ve created).
Can you still use Content Samurai?
Yes, you can, but it will only remain available for the next few weeks, then you’ll be redirected to Vidnami.
But you’re encouraged to start using Vidnami today.
It has a more modern look and feel, and is easier and more fun to use.
How do I learn how to use Vidnami?
The Help area has been completely overhauled and you now have access to brand new training videos that show you step-by-step how to create all the most important types of video you need to grow your business.
To access the new training just click the ‘Help’ option in the top menu.
You can also take a look at these training videos to see how easy it is to create different types of video.
How long will Content Samurai remain online?
Both services will run in parallel for 60 days.
To help ease the transition, banners announcing the change will be displayed at the top of Content Samurai.
After that 2 month transition period, the Content Samurai brand will be retired, and all traffic from it will be redirected to Vidnami.
How much will Vidnami cost?
Pricing is the same as for Content Samurai:
$47 per month – although if you go through this link, you’ll get a Lifetime 25% discount and only pay $35 per month
Here are two fantastic Vidnami alternatives now that Vidnami is defunct
- InVideo AI -$35/mo plus you get my exclusive bonus package. try it out for free.
- Pictory – $19 per month plus you get my exclusive bonus package. Watch out for Black Friday deals!
Will Noble Samurai be increasing the price of Vidnami in the future?
It’s likely that the price for new subscribers will increase in the future, and the team will also be looking at introducing different levels of membership.
So now is a great time to subscribe.
Is there a Vidnami free trial?
Yes! There’s a brand new 14-day free trial available (Content Samurai only had a 7-day free trial).
The new 14-day free trial includes training that will show you how to create all of the important videos your business needs.
Are you still offering your bonus package, Gary?
Yes! My bonus package of 27 video and list building related products will also be available to you if you subscribe to Vidnami through my links.
My bonus page was originally branded for Content Samurai, and I’ve now updated that, and the order links will take you to Vidnami rather than Content Samurai.
What is Noble Samurai?
Noble Samurai is the name of the company, and Vidnami is now the name of their video creation platform.

P.S.: Don't forget, if you want to create an internet income of your own, here's one of my recommended ways to do that:
First of all: your website is great!
I used Content Samurai – just the free trial – and the product is great!
Thanks for sharing this info: the content is extremely accurate!
Thanks for letting me know you liked the post and my site, Rosalia! 🙂
Yeah Content Samurai (Vidnami) is a great and easy-to-use tool. Smart move testing it out with the free trial. ?
this is a fascinating article! I have heard of Content Samurai before, but have never used it. i think that the new name is catchier and will be easier for current and future users to remember. I like the fact that current users can pick up where they left off, and the upgrade was completely free (given these economically perilous times). I have saved your site and will definitely share it with my family and friends. God bless you!
Yeah, I can see why they wanted to change the name from Content Samurai, C.N. Doesn’t exactly scream it’s a video tool, does it? Vidnami is a better choice.
The guys really treat their customers well and I actually would have been surprised if they’d imposed some sort of migration fee for existing account holders.
Support is very fast at responding to queries as well, something you don’t often see these days when companies typically take 1-2 business days to get back to you.
Thanks for sharing my site. ?
This article is a good example of the reason you should take the extra time to choose your niche and especially your business name, and when you don’t you then have all this extra work to do.
I found your information very interesting and it will especially help Content Samurai subscribers as it rebrands as Vidnami.
Jeff.
Hi Jeff, “Samurai” was essentially their brand when the Noble Samurai company started out back in 2008.
Their first product was Market Samurai which became a very popular keyword research tool at the time. Up until then, keyword research tools had all pretty much been subscription-based online services.
As far as I know, Market Samurai (which is still available) was the first keyword research tool that you only paid for once and it ran on your PC. Yeah, it needed an internet connection to do its research and it was slower than online tools but the money saved in buying this tool more than made up for that.
Later came some other “Samurai” products that have since been taken off the market.
Content Samurai is the latest of Noble Samurai’s tools and it’s the one that they’ve been putting most effort into developing and improving over the years.
Maybe at the time the tool was first developed, they didn’t foresee how popular it would become and that it would end up being their core business.
My guess is that the back-end database of customers and the videos they’ve created, is the same for both Content Samurai and Vidnami and that only the user interface has been modified and rebranded.
That makes things a lot easier than having to migrate information from an old system to a new one and praying that it all goes smoothly.
The login does not work. Just goes around and around. Is there a real person to talk to. I paid the full lifetime fee and have not been able to use this program for months. Why is the rebranding and new name put on the old website so we would know what is going on. I would like some assistance with this…please notify me by email so I can call and talk with someone…thank you.
Hi Judy, Vidnami / Content Samurai only works in the Chrome browser, so if you’re using a different browser, that would explain the problem you’ve been having.
You can contact their Support team at support@vidnami.com. They’ll respond quickly and help you through your difficulty. I don’t work for the company.
There is an announcement that’s linked to from the top of the Content Samurai site that explains why they’re rebranding the tool. That announcement is also linked to from the new Vidnami site.
